Hi everyone. First things first, let me explain what we’re trying to do here. Miguel and I, the photographers behind the lens at Breathless Frames, have been talking about how to connect with you more.
It would be nice if you could feel close to us even before you meet us for your shoot, so you feel more confident and at ease. We’re not very good at blogging yet, but we’re doing it with a lot of love.
We thought that helping you know what to expect, or giving you tips even before the shoot, would help with that. In freediving, visualizing helps a lot, so we thought that visualizing some aspects of the shooting might help you feel calmer as well.
We’re giving this blogging thing a try and hope you find it helpful. Let’s start by introducing ourselves, so you know who you’re choosing to share this beautiful underwater experience with.
I’m Estef, Estefani actually, but I go by Estef. I’m someone who is, let’s say, not the most confident person. But I believe I’m really passionate about the things I love.
I’ve been surrounded by water for most of my life, in different ways, like competitive swimming, being a certified Dive Master in scuba diving, competing in freediving, and now underwater photography.
Water is the only place where I can say I truly feel confident.
I’m sure some of you will relate to this, and maybe some won’t.
As a member of the team, I find this very helpful because I can use these skills to help you feel confident underwater and truly enjoy it, not just pose. I’ll help you break the ice with the water and feel like your best self underwater while we capture it.
We’ll do the next blog about underwater posing, in case you’re interested in this.
As for me, one of my strengths is my passion for what I love and for who I love. I have a beautiful family, and my lovely boyfriend with his playful but adorable dog.
My love for photography really began when I met Miguel. I had already been curious about it, but when I saw what he could do with a camera, I completely fell in love with photography.
He’s been teaching me ever since, and I’ve grown a lot since then, enough to say I’m really good at it, even if it still feels a bit weird to admit. I’m not going to tell you I’m bad and then ask you to trust us with your photos. That would be silly, right? I’m just joking. Our work will speak for itself, and you can be the judge. What I’m trying to say is that I’ve had the best teacher.
Miguel, the other amazing member of the team, is someone I feel lucky to work with. I’m not sure if it’s right for me to introduce him instead of letting him do it, but he’d probably just say his name and leave it at that; he’s not much of a talker. So I’ll take the freedom to tell you a little more about him.
Miguel is incredibly talented behind the lens, with an eye for detail that always captures the perfect moment. He’s the most talented person I’ve ever met, and I’m sure you’ll see that too. There’s no better person to trust in the water or when capturing these beautiful moments.
When he puts his mind to something, he gives it his all, making sure every single photo turns out perfectly. Apart from being a perfectionist when he shoots, his editing… honestly, he’s an artist to me. He probably won’t like me saying this though. He’s really modest, but he truly is.
He’ll spend days retouching every detail so everything is perfect. His color grading is something else, I’m amazed by his work every time.
He’s been doing this for a long time. He has years of experience, He studied photography and knows a lot about it, and a lot about freediving too. He’s a strong freediver, an amazing apnea instructor, and has worked as safety in freediving competitions, which makes him someone you can truly trust underwater.
We’re not the most extroverted people, but we’re warm, attentive, and we care deeply about the experience we create for you. And I strongly believe you’ll have a great time with us underwater because we both have so much love for what we do, and it shows.
If you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to read about us. We’d be really happy to meet you. We’ve had an amazing time with all the people like you who have joined us for this underwater shooting experience.
We started this project together for reasons that are probably clear by now. We love the water, we love photography, and we love each other.
To be honest, since we started this we’ve been doing many things at the same time: photographers, freedivers, bloggers, content creators, and more. We’re still working on speaking in front of the camera, which is a bit outside our comfort zone.
We work constantly on getting better, not only to build a life from this but also to improve for you and your experience with us. One day, we’d love to travel the world with our camera, capturing underwater beauty everywhere.
I know this is a lot, but I hope it gave you a better idea of who we are. We’ll be posting more blogs with more useful information like posing tips, breathing exercises, how to prepare for your underwater shoot, and if you’re a photographer too, some editing tips and underwater photography tips as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting this project. It means a lot to us.
Hope to see you underwater.
